The Flores Homestay Network was initiated in 2012 to support the development of community based tourism, to alleviate poverty and to support preservation of biodiversity.

Flores has so much more to offer besides the usual places which receive a lot of promotion. Most communities off the beaten path – often situated in remote areas – do not directly profit from the growing tourism. Most community members in this network are subsistence farmers or fishermen. With your stay in one of the villages you support families with an alternative and very welcome income; you pay for your stay directly to the host family.
